Abstract

This paper focuses on the debate on multiculturalism and collective identities and rights at the turn of the century. The author attempts to assess the role and significance of the legacy of that debate on the methodology of political theory today. He shares Bikhu Parekh’s idea that Western political theorists should be careful in distinguishing self-proclaimed universalism from disguised ethnocentrism.
