Abstract

The concept of populism has played a central role in contemporary debate for several decades. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the transformation of liberal democracies - in historical perspective - in the experience of France and Italy, in light of the intertwining and hybridization of the concepts of populism, sovereignism, and technocracy.
