Abstract
The essay defines the Open Society, according to Popperian teaching, as a genuinely free model of coexistence because it is pluralist and organized according to the democratic rules of political dialectics and checks-and-balances mechanisms. The foundation of a society of free individuals is the principle of epistemological fallibilism which, if defended, constitutes an embankment against any totalitarian, corporatist and massifying drift.
